Radiantly You is so new that they have not officially launched the business yet. There are some people who have joined at the ground floor just before this business takes off. I was offered some products to review for y'all.

First off, my favorite! I have a baby now, so something to put on a sore bum is necessary. I was given a sample of Booty Balm to try with Baby Man. I love it! What do I love about it?
- it is not greasy/slimy
- it is safe for cloth diapers
- it works quickly
- it smells great (there is a common diaper cream that starts with D that makes me nauseous)
- it is safe for most food allergies, which is a huge deal around here
- best of all - it works on ECZEMA!

Next I was given a bottle of All Natural Counter Spray to try. I am one of those mean moms who require their children to clean. They take care of most of the house work, and are improving on how well they do it lol. One thing I have never liked about the kids cleaning is the use of harmful chemicals. Over the years, I have tried different products, and most worked all right. The RY Counter Spray works well too. I was quite pleased when it was able to wipe up dried on maple syrup, which seems to be difficult to remove at times.

I also tried the Vanilla Coconut Toothpaste. I personally love using it! It makes my mouth feel very clean, but in a family this size there will always be dissent when it comes to toothpaste. Here is the breakdown:
Me- I love it!
The Dad - cannot stand it, the taste was the problem, he dislikes both coconut and vanilla
Diva Girl - she loves it and is taking some to Franciscan camp with her
Curly Girl - she tolerates it and says it works well for cleaning her Othrotain
Wondertwins - both could take it or leave it, but the baking soda feels weird in their mouths

There has not been a RY product that I have tried and disliked. I really like that all the products are safer than commercial products, especially now that I have a crawling, climbing, busy little man.

Go check out Radiantly You, You will not be disappointed!
Feel free to add yours in the comments.

1 - For W's intentions.
2 - For a child who is considering entering the Church
3 - For a friend pregnant with twins
4 - For a friend who just had her 6th child
5 - For everyone who suffers from anxiety

Not related, but since my last post, THIS has happened around here...
Around noon today, I was in pain, by 1:30 or so the pain became rhythmic. I tried a shower, drinking more water, resting, and nothing helped. By 5 the contractions were 2 mins apart, mild to moderate in strength. Off to L and D we went, all 6 of us. At 6:30, Jeremy took the girls to the Cathedral for Religious Ed (it is just a couple blocks from the hospital). Just after he left, I was checked, and dilated to almost 2, which is where I still am. Tests showed mild dehydration and a very mild UTI. 2 bags of fluid later, and a script for meds for the UTI, and we are finally home. Baby is still where he belongs, inside of me, and still moving like crazy. Hopefully we have no more false alarms!!! I am so proud of our girls, they endured a very boring late night, while hungry, and did it with minimal whining.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06876832680989391509noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-992773345302922948.post-44673031040733455912013-03-14T19:38:00.000-07:002013-03-14T19:38:06.698-07:00Random thoughts for the day...1 - Diva has decided to become vegetarian at lunch, while at school. This is fine with me, she eats school lunch. Yesterday for lunch she ate 2 French Dip sandwiches, and today 2 corn dogs. I think she is failing in her endeavor.

2 - Wondertwin A to Wondertwin C - we can pretend to be twins, which we will be really good at, because we really are twins!

3- If you go to Wal-Mart with 3 girls wearing Irish Dance costumes and wigs, you might just get asked for an impromptu show, which the girls loved to do.

4- Wondertwin C was rubbing my belly where Baby-Boy was pushing his foot, it must have tickled because he gave me the hardest kick I have ever experienced from an unborn child, it made me jump!

5 - It snowed today, whiteout conditions for the time it took to walk to the car and drive home from Wal-Mart. After that, perfectly sunny.

6- The house we own in Illinois is on the market, please pray for a quick sale!

7- Curly girl, who is no longer curly, is shaving her head for St. Baldrick's again this year. This time, her friend, also 9 years old, is joining her.

It also means that I need find the lost leotard, re-learn how to put a wig on a 7 year old, make sure the tiaras are all in decent shape, ensure that all the girls poodle socks that fit, and on and on and on....

Here a few pics from yesterday, the girls recently received their hard shoes. They will not start lessons in hard shoe until May, but ordering early allows them to break the shoes in slowly and hopefully avoid all blisters.
Diva knew a song to memorize linking verbs. She knew it 3 years ago. Yesterday she had a quiz where she had to list the linking verbs. She had all weekend to study. She chose not to, claiming that she still knew the song. I found the song paper, offered it to her to study. She glanced at it once. I chose not to nag her about it. Well, she only remembered 10 of the 18. Her teacher asked if she had studied. I chose to let the teacher know that Diva chose not to study because she "knew" it.

I wonder if Diva will study for her helping verb quiz that she has next week, or if she thinks she still remembers form 3 years ago.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06876832680989391509noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-992773345302922948.post-4200698040413082992012-12-28T17:26:00.002-08:002012-12-28T17:26:57.842-08:004iscrazy, but 5 is.....

I guess I should finally announce on here what has been known on Facebook for ages. I am expecting baby number 5! Yes, the Wondertwins will be big sisters in a few months. I am due with Sea Monkey (the name given to the baby by Wondertwin C).

This has been a fairly difficult (aka normal for me) pregnancy. I am 19 weeks along tomorrow, and the morning sickness, that lasted all day, seems to be gone. The "Irritable Uterus" contractions started on Christmas Eve. They are coming 2-5 mins apart for about 60-90 mins 3-4 times per day.

We find out if Sea Monkey is a he-baby or a she-baby on Jan 7th.

Please pray that the contractions do not cause progression, that they do not cause me to go nuts, and that I can remain patient with the 4 cuties I have with me now.

Diva is the child most like me, therefore, she is the most difficult to deal with. I love her with every ounce of my being, but sometimes I have to remind myself that I like her too.

1- I love your confidence. You have more confidence in yourself that I have ever had.
2- The way you leave me little love notes.
3- The way you love to organize...
4- The way you love all things "office supplies" - seriously, no one else gets excited with me when buying new notebooks
5- The way you sleep under a cover, no matter how hot it is.
6- How excited you get for your sisters' successes.
7- How you cannot stand to be wrong :)
8- The excitement you show when you open a new ream of paper or box of oil pastels.
9- Your smile
10- The way you play violin, I cannot play anything and you are an inspiration to me
11- The way you share your secrets with me
12 - How you are stuck in that little girl, young lady limbo
13- Your generosity, giving your things to your sisters so you have a birthday or Christmas present for them
14- The way you love to mismatch
15- How proud you are of your own accomplishments
16- Your faith, you are so much more anchored in your faith that I am, thank you for your example.
17 - The way you are only interested in the dances and other social things when learning about your new school.
18 - Seeing you on stage in Cinderella in you adorable baggy pants and vest.
19 - I love listening to you play violin, and how you will work on a problem piece over and over.

That is all for today, I am teary enough for now. I plan to add to this, and make one for each girl.

Impossible for a plain country bumpkin and a prince to join in marriage. And four white mice will never be four white horses.."- Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella.

This is what has been dictating our schedule as of late. Diva has a role in it as a Steward and Townsperson, Curly Girl helped with props, Wondertwin C will be an usher, and Wondertwin A is case as a Townsperson and a mouse that turns into a horse. They have 6 performance preceded by 5 (?) dress rehearsals. They are so excited and they practice their songs all. day. long....

I will post pictures when we get them.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06876832680989391509noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-992773345302922948.post-68749240921043921792012-06-10T16:05:00.000-07:002012-06-10T16:05:16.505-07:00Chores....again!We are notorious for starting a chore plan and never sticking with it very long. Tonight, we started chores with allowance. So far, each child can earn 1/2 their age ($3.50, $4.50, and $5) each week. Each day that they do not their chores cheerfully, they lose one day's worth of $$.

Twins chores: fold and put away 1 load of laundry daily, make bed, bring their dirty laundry to the laundry room.

Curly/Baldy Girl: Dishes once a day (wash or dry), make bed, and bring dirty laundry to laundry room.

Diva: Dishes once a day with CG (wash or dry), make bed, and bring dirty laundry to laundry room, and plan and prepare a meal once a week.

Please pray that we are able to continue this time and follow through.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06876832680989391509noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-992773345302922948.post-29301646389113263892012-05-19T22:07:00.002-07:002012-05-19T22:07:24.655-07:00American Heritage GirlsThis blog post is in response to never end questions about what AHG is, why we left GSUSA, and what we think of AHG.

1) I am going to answer the Girl Scout question first. Why did we leave?

We had many reasons for leaving. GSUSA has become all about girl empowerment. If you have ever met my daughters you will realize that they are empowered enough! They need to learn humility.

We left because we moved away from our troop, and comfort zone. I figured if we had to meet all new people, we may as well try out a Catholic troop.

We left because of a connection between GSUSA, WAGGGS, and Planned Parenthood. Once my girls knew that PP performed abortions, and that GSUSA has been associated with them, my girls were done with GS.

I could have mostly ignored ALL of those reasons. The REAL reason we left GSUSA is because they insulted Catholics when they released the Junior Journey called aMUSE. In that book they reference a play called "Simply Maria." Yes, they only mention the name of the play and the author. Yes, they use the author as a role model for girls. Simply Maria sounds like a wonderful play. I could see Diva asking to find it and read it. When she sees a play she wants to do, we try to read an excerpt to find out what it is about before pursuing it. This is what I found as an excerpt from it.

PRIEST. Dearly beloved, we are gathered here, under the Catholic church, in the holy house of God, to unite these two people in holy matrimony. Marriage is sacred. It is the unification of a man and a woman, their love and commitment, forever, and ever, and ever, no matter what! Well, then let's begin.María, do you accept José Juan Gonzalez García López as your lawfully wedded husband to love cherish, serve, cook for, clean for, sacrifice for, have his children, keep house, love him, even if he beats you, commits adultery, gets drunk, rapes you, lawfully, denies your identity, money, and in return ask for nothing? (MARIA thinks about it and then turns to her parents who mouth to her "I do.")

I do not want my CATHOLIC girl to read that. She is gentle, sheltered, loving, and so much more. I do not want her to read a play that makes fun of one of the most sacred aspects of my life.

2) What is AHG? To me, AHG is a Christian, our troop is Catholic, scouting program for girls. We do all the things that you would expect a scout troop to do. We perform service. Our troop, collectively, performed over 400 hours of service this year. (I will update with an exact total later, the paper is in the van, it is midnight, and I am in my PJs). Our troop changes the missals at the sponsoring church as needed, we make and deliver cards and gifts to a local nursing home, we make layered cookies in a joy for the firefighters The girls can earn patches! Not for talking about our feelings like you do in the Daisy Journeys. Nope, my girls earned many patches, for Theater, Dance, Music Appreciation, Cooking, Outdoor Skills, World Heritage, Travel, Sewing, Computer Fun, and more. We also take field trips. We have seen the inner working of a bank and an airport. We have toured Sinsinawa Mound and learned about Fr. Mazzuchelli. All in all, AHG to me, is an organization that encourages service to others, learning new things, going new places, and making new friends.

3) Do we love it? YES! All 4 girls and myself love it. We have so much fun. I am the new Outdoor Coordinator. I am planning 3 day camps. Each camp is 2 days long. The girls will learn about birds, insects, fire safety, how to build a fire, how to cook on the fire, how to use a pocket knife. They will go on hikes, whittle a bar of soap, feed the troop, dissect owl pellets, make a nature journal, and start a bird life list. But most of all, they will have fun, make friends, and learn new things.
Before going into the story, I want to remind you what CG looked like before.

Now for the back story...

Curly Girl has always had a soft spot for children with cancer, even though she does not personally know anyone who has cancer. Her grandmother died as a result of complications due to cancer before
Curly Girl was born.
Curly Girl's older sister, Diva showed Curly Girl a story about a girl shaving her head for cancer, in an American Girl magazine. Curly Girl came to us asking if she could raise money and shave her head. After telling her to pray about it for a few days, we agreed to allow it.

I searched online to find a local event for St. Baldrick's. The only local event was a BaseBald event with Loras and Coe College Baseball teams. They agreed to let
Curly Girl join their team.
Curly Girl has raised just over $2000 for the event, she raised more than any other participant. She was also the only girl who had her head shaved that day and the youngest person.

Curly Girl was the first to have her head shaved, followed by her dad, the Loras College baseball team, coaches, staff, and the Coe College team and staff. Capri College in Dubuque sent caring young woman to shave the participants.

This event has grown beyond what we could have ever imagined. Not only did CG raise way more money that we expected, she has been contacted by 2 members of St. Baldrick's staff, and shaken many hands. There is even a chance that her story could be published in an American Girl magazine as a follow up to the original story.

As you can imagine, St. Patrick's Day can be crazy for Irish Dancers and their Mom and Dad. We had a lot of fun, but came home tired! I am so thankful that we we to Mass last night.

It took a very long time getting everyone ready. Only 3 wigs were put on, Curly Girl would not wear hers because it hurt her head. She wore a bun instead.

The girls danced 4 dances at the fest: light jig, slip jig, and 2 different 2 hand reels. My twins were partners. Identical 2 hand reel partners is just too cute to resist. Also, the older 2 did a fabulous job.
Curly Girl's giving nature has once again humbled me beyond belief. I could not do what she is planning.

Hey friends! Our daughter, Rita age 8, has decided to fundraise for childhood cancer research. On April 14, 2012, Rita will participate with the Loras College Baseball team in a St. Baldrick's event. She, along with the ball team, will have her head shaved. She is collecting donations for St. Baldricks between now and then. Here is a link to her St. Balricks page http://tinyurl.com/7rrs5dy . To date, she has raised $575.

Therefore today Wondertwin C decided to read to the dog rather than to me. Apparently, Tosha really likes Green Eggs and Ham. Also, Wondertwin A has been struggling with motivation to do her Math. Today and yesterday, I added an activity to each answer. She is reviewing one digit subtraction, so 9-7=2, do 2 jumping jacks, or tell 2 sisters that you love them.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06876832680989391509noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-992773345302922948.post-56510875357729368202012-02-06T12:10:00.000-08:002012-02-06T12:10:14.688-08:00American Heritage GirlsAs many of you know, when we moved we decided to not put the girls in Girl Scouts. There are many reasons for this, one being that GSUSA chose to use an anti-Catholic play as an example in one of Journeys. This was not okay with me!

In our new home we discovered American Heritage Girls. AHG is a wonderful Christian scouting program for girls, with a strong service component. Our troop is sponsored by a local Catholic church, therefore there is a strong Catholic feeling to it. Our girls pray Catholic prayers and learn about Catholic customs. They also perform service for others (and are rewarded with stars), work on various badges (Curly Girls has earn many already, including ones for: sewing, stamp collecting, home decorating, money management, and more!). All of the girls have earned multiple patches and service stars.

If you have any questions, please leave them in the comments and I will update this post with the answers.

We hope and pray that these changes will be for the betterment of all of us.

Next year Diva will attend middle school at a local Catholic Middle School. Many things led us to this decision. First of all, it is an amazing middle school, and a perfect match for Diva. She will have opportunities to get her Diva-ness out in an appropriate way (aka, she will be performing LOL). They have small classes, and they keep the 6th graders away from the 7th and 8th graders as much as possible. Diva's favorite things about the school are that she already has a friend there (from American Heritage Girls) and the school is implementing 1 to 1 computers (aka she will have her own laptop).

Another change in our lives is that Mom (me) is trying to stay off of facebook. It started as a sort of protests, I did not want to keep reading about how great the Obamacare plan is for America. I realize that people have difference of oppinion, and I am okay with that, it is the bashing that was getting to me. Being off of facebook is challenging for me, I use facebook more than I should. I am hoping that this allows me to break the habit.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06876832680989391509noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-992773345302922948.post-28887553149916601212012-01-23T09:33:00.000-08:002012-01-23T09:33:16.487-08:00Weird Phase of LifeHave you ever gone through a phase of life where it seems like life moves on without you? I am feeling that way lately. I know that most of it is because we moved, and therefore life in IL is moving on without us, as it should. It still makes me a little sad that my friends' lives are moving on, their children are growing up, without us. I also realize that we are growing, changing, making new friends here, without our old friends.

I wish I knew how to ensure that the girls and their IL friends, and me and mine, all remain friends despite the distance.

With the consideration of middle school for Diva, I wish for my old support group so that I could discuss it with them. I know there is the phone/facebook/email, but alas, my friends are busy and not able to chat with me about it. Wow! That sounded whiney, and I really do not mean it to.

Reacting to change is difficult....for all of us.
God BlessAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06876832680989391509noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-992773345302922948.post-17921078814276349972012-01-20T05:56:00.000-08:002012-01-20T05:56:07.031-08:00Homeschool or Catholic School?Where should Diva attend middle school...that is the question. We are close to making a decision, but really want to know that we are following God's chosen path for our little family.

1) - homeschool: easy enough, keeping the status quo, can challenge her when necessary, more one on one, ability to follow her lead, we LOVE using Seton, more time with Mom

2) - Catholic Middle School - we always planned to send them to middle school, more opportunties, more independence, great curriculum, school is able to deal with her individual needs, she wants to attend

There are many more reasons for both choices, right now we are close to a decision. She will attend the middle school next Tuesday as a 6th grader for a day. She is very excited! In the morning, Hubby and I (and 3 little girls) will have a meeting with the principal answer some final questions.

Please pray that we make the right decision for Diva, for our family, and in obedience to His Will.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06876832680989391509noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-992773345302922948.post-11762206234120351952012-01-14T08:27:00.000-08:002012-01-14T08:36:12.210-08:00New outlook on being a woman of GodAs most of you know, I am a very short tempered, quick to yell, mother. Obviously, I would like to change this about myself. I have recently realized that there are factors which make my attitude worse.

1) poor nutrition

2) not taking my vitamins

3) messy house

4) not exercising

5) doing it ALL myself

So, I have also come up with some steps to help.

Obviously eat better, exercise, and take my vitamins.

Also, when I fold laundry, I lay each pile by the child's place at the table. They cannot eat until they put away their clothes. I have a schedule of who cooks and cleans up, but struggle to stick with it. I am selling a bunch of stuff. This house is so small that we cannot put everything away, so I am selling off a bunch of things. My goal is to have them listed on eBay or Craigslist before bed on Sunday night. Lastly, to bring myself closer to God, I try to pray for the person whose clothes, toys, school work, etc that I am putting away. It is really difficult to yell while praying ;)
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06876832680989391509noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-992773345302922948.post-83048445351848412712012-01-13T13:30:00.001-08:002012-01-14T06:27:21.712-08:00A year in pictures

A new daycare family, we all fell in love with Lil Dude
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 238); It seems that St.Cecilia has blessed our wonder twin C with a love of music and uncanny musical abilities. Sadly, she did not bless me with the necessary love of music to parent this child. LOL

My house is very loud, and yes the girls talk a lot, which adds to the noise, but most of it is music. At this moment, there are 3 violins playing, not the same songs, not together, and one drum pad. Thank goodness we did not buy a drum lol. I may send a thank you card to the man at the music store that mentioned that children usually do not play an actual drum until middle school.

After violin practice, the girls are supposed to practice Irish Dancing, but I think they may have to wait. I cannot handle anymore music right now! I am thrilled that they will be able to go outside and ride scooters at lunch, hopefully some of the energy will decrease.

In the dream house, that I would to build someday, there will be a sound proof music room, with a dance floor...and a bathroom that has a door to the backyard. My friend has a bathroom that opens outdoors (and indoors), best idea ever!

On a related note....anyone know of a good pair of ear plugs...

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06876832680989391509noreply@blogger.com2
