Curly Girl's Day Out

We are trying a new thing where we take one child out for a day with just mom and dad. We can only choose one child a month because of the cost of a sitter for the other for. With this schedule, each child will get a turn 3 times a year, not too bad.

First up was CG. She chose a day at the local children's museum and to go to the local Super Store to spend her birthday money on a scooter. We also splurged and had small treats from Sonic. Curly was also allowed to choose dinner that night. She chose spaghetti. I had just made 3 jars of spaghetti sauce, so it was perfect.

CG petting the corn snake - named - Corny. Her best pal, Windy the Turtle was outside, and the outside was closed that day.

Notice the tongue - LOL

A rare picture of me, with CG.

CG with her Daddy.

All in all, it was a wonderful day. Fun was had by all, even those who stayed home with the sitter.

Motivated Moms

If you are anything like me, you house is messy. If you have kids you want to spend time with them rather than clean. That is my excuse and I am sticking with it!

Well I discovered Motivated Moms. It is a yahoo group by the same name, also a book. If you join the group you get a email daily telling you what chores to do. Every day you will see an email like this:

Daily Chores:
__ Make beds
__ Feed pets
__ Prepare breakfast
__ Load / Run / Empty dishwasher
__ Sweep kitchen & entryway
__ Clean kitchen sink
__ Clear kitchen clutter & wipe down counters
__ Plan / Cook dinner
__ Wipe out bathroom sinks
__ Empty trash
__ Do laundry
__ Read to children
__ Exercise
__ Quiet time
__ Take vitamins/medication
__ Prepare tomorrow's clothing

You will also receive an separate email that tells you to do the specific chores for that day. Ex: one day it will be to change the sheets and wash them.

I am hoping this helps my housekeeping :)

Yep at the ripe old age of 34, I have officially started peri-menopause. I suspected for awhile now, and was comfirmed yesterday. Let the "old lady" jokes start :)

A funny memory

I was talk with teen tonight and remembered this story....

When I was hugely pregnant with the twins, McDonald's has their 39 cent ice cream cones. So, of course, I had one every night after bedtime for the girls. This was after Curly Girl weaned (1 month before delivery of the twins) since we she was allergic to cow's milk.

Anyway, I digress. One night I went to McD's and bought a cone for me and one for dad. Picture, huge pregnant woman driving one-handed, holding 2 cones in the other hand. As I rolled out of the Suburban, one of the ice cream cones fell. Luckily, I caught it, with my BELLY.

This is one of my fave twin pregnancy memories.
